Servin' up The Green! In part one I riffed on The Pink Heart Stones and now it's The Greens' turn for a shout out. As I said in Pt I, green and pink are the colors of the Heart or 4th Chakra, the mighty center of our bodies. Possible signs of imbalance in this Chakra could be difficulty in relationships, [including the one you have with YourSelf] lack of discipline, repressed feelings, jealousy, anger, suffocating others, and depending on someone other than YourSelf to make you happy. There are also physical ailments which are attributed to a blocked 4th chakra that I won't go into here cause I'm gonna riff on the Spiritual and Emotional vibes of the green Heart stones. Know this is by no means a definitive list, there's many more but these are the ones I've chosen:
Peridot--When your Heart is open, you give freely and receive wholly. From The Book of Stones by Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian: "Peridot aids one in perceiving and honoring the Source of all abundance. This source is the Creator's frequency of Love. By opening one to receive more of this Universal Love, Peridot can help one receive abundance on all levels of one's life." They go on to say, "Peridot helps remove blockages to receiving. Peridot can be used to alleviate heaviness of heart and all manner of heart-related imbalances."
Peridot is said to Open, Cleanse, and Activate the Heart and Solar Plexus Chakras. Other properties are alleviating jealousy, resentment, spite, and anger. When your Heart is Open, there is no place for those things to reside. This green Gemstone with yellow is found in Brazil, Australia, Egypt, South Africa, parts of Europe and the U.S. Peridot is also said to relieve stress. Sounds mighty fine to me!
Green Calcite--Keywords are Relaxation, Emotional Balance, Release of stress and resentment, Connection with The Heart. YUMMY! When your Heart is open, you ain't got time tah be stressin' and when you're calm, your Heart and body truly Appreciate it. Robert Simmons likens Green Calcite's energy to a plunge into a swimming pool--cooling to the "hot" emotions of anger and irritability. "Carrying or wearing it can make one feel clear and relaxed amid the stresses of daily life." Green Calcite is said to help one resonate with Love Energy.
Calcites are found on every continent. Some countries include Belgium, Brazil, Peru, Romania, Mexico and the U.S. I love to have Calcite around because it has been helpful with aches and pains.
Chrysocolla--This Gemstone is so beautiful, and like Peridot, one I don't see very often in NYC. Said to be a Tranquil and Sustaining stone, assisting Communication and Meditation. When you have communed with Silence and Stillness the Heart Opens enhancing Clarity, and allows clear communication to flow from the Heart Center. Judy Hall, author of The Crystal Bible says, "Chrysocolla calms, cleanses and re-energizes all the chakras and aligns them with the divine." She goes on to say "...at the heart chakra it heals heartache and increases the capacity to love. Chrysocolla alleviates guilt and brings in joy." That word alleviates again. A theme for Green Heart stones.
For those of you into Sound Healing, Chrysocolla, according The Book of Stones governs all aspects of Sound Healing whether through words or sound frequencies. This turquoise-y stone with inclusions is found in Chile, Mexico, Peru, Russia, Zaire and the U.S.
Chrysoprase--Another stone I don't often see but is uber juicy! Chrysoprase is a member of the Quartz family and is a rare form of Chalcedony. Prized by the ancient Greeks, this Gemstone is found in Australia, Brazil, Madagascar, South Africa, Tanzania and Poland, where it's been mined since the 14th century. Said to help one remain centered in the Heart at all times, giving Courage to face rough and tumble situations with Compassion [which we often forget to give to ourselves]. Naisha Ashian says "Chrysoprase brings hope even into the darkest regions of one's shadow self. It reminds us of our constant connection to the source of All-That-Is. Its energy expands the heart chakra and allows one to receive the infinite Love and Abundance of the Universe." Now, that is just FABU!
Green Jade--The Jade we see the most, it's said to Harmonize dysfunctional relationships! Oooooh chile! if any of you out there are working with Green Jade for that purpose, would LOVE for you to weigh in on THAT! Puh-leeze don't hesitate to share below!!! Keywords are Health and Abundance. I remember when I was a kid, my dad told me green was the calmest of colors--the grass, the trees, that deep green gets me every time, soothing me into the Abyss of Chill. The color of Green Jade ranges from pale to deep green and is said to encourage one to revel in Life and to fully Enjoy--something we must all remember to do. Green Jade is also said to heal scarcity mindedness, fear of money, and all things of the lack-ful mentality.
There are 2 types of Jade, Nephrite and Jadeite. Green Nephrite Jade is said to be a Heart Healer, soothing and strengthening for the Heart Center. Green Jadeite is said to support detoxification and trauma. Nephrite is found in British Columbia, Russia, Taiwan, Poland, New Zealand, India and some states in the U.S. including Alaska. I love Jade, it's just so, so, so, well, JADE!
Unakite Jasper--Keywords: Healing, Balance, Patient Persistence, [I dig that!] and Release of bad habits. Unakite Jasper is a green and pink mottled Gemstone and is said to Balance the emotional and physical aspects of the Heart; to help one recognize their repressed emotions and to begin the process of letting go. This stress reliever was first discovered in the Unakas mountains of North Carolina; it is also found in Virginia, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Brazil and China.
I just love this affirmation from The Book of Stones under Unakite Jasper: "I navigate the process of healing and awakening to higher consciousness with patience and faith, moving always, step by step, towards my highest good."
A Green Heart Stone not mentioned on this list is MALACHITE. I will be riffin' on that gemstone in a separate post.
I love The Greens. Do you have any favorites? Is there something you are using The Greens to assist you with? If so, how has it impacted your Life?
